Singapore – The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design announced, that the appointment of WDC 2012 has been conferred to the City of Helsinki (Finland). Announced during the closing ceremony of the Icsid World Design Congress in Singapore, Helsinki will move on to be the third city to hold the biennial designation in 2012.

Seoul (South Korea) – A newly redesigned website has been launched for the WDC 2010 programme of events   showcasing the latest information that will be unveiled in the coming year. This new and improved version of the website unveiled a fresh look and includes the calendar of events, a variety of photos, as well as a number of relevant industry articles and information on all activities and events related to the WDCl Seoul 2010 calendar year.

Montreal (Canada) – Following deliberations on 17 July 2009, Icsid announced  on behalf of the members of the WDC Jury, that the City of Eindhoven (The Netherlands) and the City of Helsinki (Finland) have been selected for the shortlist of cities that will move on to the next round of evaluation in the hopes of becoming World Design Capital in 2012.
