   <description><![CDATA[Taipei, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) - The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) announced today, that the City of Cape Town (South Africa) has been designated the World Capital Design® (WDC) 2014. The designated city was revealed on the closing day of the International Design Alliance Congress in Taipei. Cape Town is the fourth city to hold this biennial appointment and marks the first for the African continent.

   <description><![CDATA[Montreal (Canada) – Following deliberations on 9 June 2011, the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) has the pleasure to announce on behalf of the members of the World Design Capital® (WDC) Selection Committee that the cities of Bilbao (Spain), Cape Town (South Africa) and Dublin (Ireland) have been selected as the three shortlisted cities that will move on to the next round of evaluation in the bid to becoming the World Design Capital in 2014.

   <description><![CDATA[Montreal (Canada) -  The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) is proud to announce a landmark for the World Design Capital® (WDC) initiative as a record 56 cities in 24 countries have expressed an interest in the 2014 designation as applications closed on 31 March 2011.
WDC 2014 will be the fourth designation since the establishment of the project in 2004.    <description><![CDATA[Helsinki (Finland) - World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 has confirmed five new corporate partners. The project is becoming one of the largest corporate partnership projects in Finnish history.

The new main corporate partners of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 are KONE and Sanoma Magazines Finland. Corporate partnership agreements were signed with Hasan&amp;Partners, Iittala and Lapin Kulta. World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 (WDC Helsinki 2012) now has 14 corporate partners.
